This test estimates the time it takes to load
an image file from the Internet. The test begins
when the request for the image is sent and
ends when the image finishes loading in the
browser. The speed is calculated by dividing
the size of the image by the time required
to load
the image.
When conducting a speed test, please make sure that
you are not running any other applications
(downloads,
etc.) that use bandwidth. Running multiple applications
will give you inconclusive results.
Typical results for Toll Free Broadband should range
between 70K to 180K depending on the quality
of your phone connection. Results higher than 180K
indicate that you have a very good phone
connection.
To compare results, it is recommended that you dial in
to any other number (other than Toll Free
Broadband) and perform the test 3 times to get an idea of
the average speed. Disconnect and dial in
to the Toll Free Broadband number and test 3 times. On
comparing the average speed, you should
notice a substantial increase in throughput speeds, while using Toll
Free Broadband.
